INTERESTING WEDDING

The marriage of Dr. John Gilmour and Miss Katie Wishart, which took place yesterday at Edinburgh, excited much interest in Burntisland, of which place both of the contracting parties are natives. Miss K. Wishart is the youngest daughter of the late Mr John Wishart, managing partner of the Grange Distillery (Messrs Wm. Young & Co.), and Dr. Gilmour, who graduated in Edinburgh, and is now practising at Wilmslow, in Cheshire, is the oldest son of the late Mr. Andrew Gilmour, pharmaceutical chemist. The wedding took place in the presence of a select gathering at the house of Mr Andrew Wishart, W.S., Inverleith Terrace, brother of the bride. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. J. S. Finlayson, M.A., of the Parish Church, Burntisland, assisted by the Rev. Hay Hunter, D.D., of St. Andrew’s Parish, Edinburgh.

The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. A. Wishart and she looked pretty in her dress of white glace silk, with overslip of lace point d’Alencon, and long Court train, with pearl ornaments. She carried a bouquet of beautiful flowers, set off with maidenhair fern. Her bridesmaid, Miss Cooke, was attired in a cream serge costume. The groomsman was Mr John Connel, agent of the National Bank of Scotland, Burntisland. The presents were numerous and valuable, and the happy pair set out for their honeymoon journey with the usual demonstrations of assembled friends.
