Jane (or Jenny) Wishart, born in 1742, the daughter of George Wishart, and sister of James Wishart, married Johan Ludwig, Baron von Westphalen, a German aristocrat and soldier. He was deported from Scotland under the Aliens Act, and she followed him to Germany. Her grand-daughter, Johanna Bertha Julia Jenny Westphalen married Karl Marx.
